Microsoft is exploring the Possibility of a Budget-Friendly, Ad-Supported Xbox Game Pass

It looks like Microsoft may be considering offering a cheaper version of its popular Xbox Game Pass subscription service. According to a recent survey that was allegedly sent out to some Xbox users, this cheaper version would be ad-supported and would cost $3 per month.

It would include access to a variety of Xbox Game Pass content, including a selection of past first-party Xbox games with a 6-month delay on new games. Users accessing these games through this ad-supported tier would be required to view an ad before the game starts.

In addition to access to games, this cheaper Xbox Game Pass tier would also include online multiplayer access, which is currently a separate subscription service that costs $9.99 per month and does not include any games.

Some have speculated that this ad-supported tier could potentially replace the current $10 per month Xbox Live Gold subscription, which includes access to online multiplayer and a selection of free games through the Games with Gold program.

It’s important to note that this ad-supported, cheaper Xbox Game Pass tier is still just speculation at this point and it’s not clear if it will actually be implemented. Surveys do not always result in new products, and it’s possible that users may vote against the idea of an ad-supported Xbox Game Pass.

Only time will tell whether or not Microsoft decides to move forward with this idea. If it does, it could be a great option for gamers looking for a more affordable way to access a wide range of games on their Xbox consoles.
